The Swan Cup Cum Charity Race 2006 was jointly organized by Sibu Radio Control Sports Club, Sibu Municipal Council (SMC)and Sibu Businesswomen Association for the purpose of raising funds for charity.

There were 70 participants from all the way from Kuching, Sibu, Kapit, Bintulu and Brunei and 112 powerboats of various classes taking parts in the race.  Sibu RC Sports Club led the race with total accumulated point score of 275 followed by Miri R/C Powerboat Racing with total 153 points.

YB Datuk Tiong Thai King, Chairman of SMC and Y Bhg Daniel Ngieng, Deputy Chairman of SMC were invited as guests of honour at the final race.
